Some teams score about as often as the Cold, Hard Football Facts crew did back in high school … yet even a few of them manage to tag the prom queen once in a while. Here's a look at these fat-faced, pock-marked little studs who scored the big victory.

How do you win a Super Bowl with a mediocre offense?
Easy, you field a great defense.
The 1990 Giants, 2002 Buccaneers and 2003 Patriots were all teams that fielded the No. 1 scoring defense in the league in their Super Bowl seasons.
Perhaps the only surprise on the list is the 1982 Redskins. That squad is famous for its star-studded offense, led by "The Diesel," John Riggins; a great offensive line that gave the world the term "The Hogs" (and the Cold, Hard Football Facts our "Hog Index"); a great quarterback in Joe "
Norman Einstein" Theismann, who would be named league MVP in 1983; and a great cast of wide receivers.
Yet those 1982 Redskins scored just 21.1 PPG. Clearly, the nine-game, strike-shortened 1982 season was an unusual one and gave us a number of stastitical anomalies.
